Pass Plus - Developing Your Driving

Passing your practical driving test is just the first step on the road to becoming a good and safe driver.

Statistics demonstrate that new drivers are more likely to have an accident in the first two years after passing their test than at any other time.

The aim of the Pass Plus training course is to provide extra tuition on areas of driving that can't all be covered by the practical driving test, these are;

  • Driving in town
  • Driving in all weathers
  • Driving on rural roads
  • Driving at night
  • Driving on dual carriageways
  • Driving on motorways

Your Pass Plus course will be carried out by an approved Pass Plus driving instructor, it may not be the instructor who got you through your test.

The Pass Plus course will take a minimum of six hours to complete.

If you'd like to take the Pass Plus course after you've gained your full license then you can ask your driving school to assign you a Pass Plus registered instructor to ensure continuity.

Pass Plus Benefits

On successfully completing your Pass Plus course, you will;

  • Get a discount on car insurance from many companies
  • Feel more confident on the road
  • Be able to deal with hazards more effectively
  • Build on your current driving knowledge and skills

The Pass Plus course will cost you more money but it's an investment worth making as it will teach you to be a better driver for life and you could also save more on your car insurance than it cost to do the course.

Search our national network to find a Pass Plus instructor in your local area.

Pass plus tip: Be prepared to change your style of driving to suit different weather conditions, you may not have had much practise when preparing for your practical test but it pays to read up on this before starting your pass plus cours
