Driving Lessons - Three Things to Consider Driving lessons teach you a lifelong skill, how to drive safely and give due consideration to other road users.
Learning to drive is not just about passing your test, it teaches you a whole host of skills such as anticipation, co-ordination, control and much more.
Before you get behind the wheel for the first time, it pays to consider the following three top tips;
Lesson PricesOur network of UK driving instructors are responsible for setting their own lesson prices and special offers. Remember that the cheapest option may not necessarily be best for you. Many driving schools in our network offer discounts for block bookings, so if you're happy to commit to five or ten lessons at a time, you can save yourself money as opposed to booking lessons individually. The cost of driving lessons varies throughout the country, search for instructors in your local area, ask the questions on our choosing your driving school page, and then compare prices. Lesson LengthDriving instructors are a flexible bunch and will usually offer different lesson durations based on your needs. For example, with so much to learn on your first lesson, many of our instructors suggest that a one and a half hour or even 2 hour lesson should be booked so you can cover all the information and still have enough time to drive. As you gain more confidence and progress, don't be afraid to ask your instructor what he or she feels is the optimum lesson length for you. Some people can stay focused no problem for a two hour lesson, while for others, one hour lessons are better suited. Remember that your instructor will have to pick you up, find a suitable location for the lesson and then drop you back again, so sometimes an hour lesson isn't quite long enough to cover a new subject. Lesson FrequencyEveryone learns at a different pace, and our instructors will be happy to suggest the right number of lessons per week for you once they've had a chance to assess your driving. Of course you may have your own financial considerations and other commitments to take into account that dictate how many weekly lessons you can have. Take the first step to booking your driving lessons by searching for a local instructor now.Driving lessons tip: There's a lot to cover on your first driving lesson so to make sure you have time to take it all in and get to drive the car, it's best to book a 1.5 hour or 2 hour lesson.
